ABC’s The Bachelorette Season 21 brought new men to Bachelor Nation. Devin Strader made an early impression on Jenn Tran, as he took every possible opportunity to connect with her on group dates and one-on-ones. Unfortunately, unsavory information came to light involving Devin. Here’s what fans posted on social media to paint the contestant in a bad light.

What’s going on with the Devin Strader controversy in season 21 of “The Bachelorette”?
Devin Strader’s bodies come out of his basement. The Bachelorette Season 21 continues. At the beginning of the season, Devin had a strong bond with Jenn Tran and she appreciated how he took small opportunities to make her feel special. Unfortunately, towards the end of the season, unfavorable information about Devin’s character is revealed.
Fans on Reddit discovered that Devin had ambitions as a rapper even before joining the show. He rapped under the name 96dev and his music could be found on major streaming platforms. Unfortunately, a 2019 track called “96waves” contained derogatory racist language. Since this information came to light, many of the tracks are no longer available to stream.
Additionally, Devin liked Instagram posts expressing his anti-vaccine, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-immigration stances. He also followed a right-wing Instagram account that mocked liberal ideals. Not only that, but on the first night, Reality Steve revealed that Devin admitted to being a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. ABC did not air this conversation.
The Bachelorette Season 21 fans believe Devin Strader is desperately trying to do damage control. Reddit followers noticed that Devin seemed to be following a number of left-leaning accounts after The Bachelorette Fans noticed his likes. Additionally, Devin seemed to dislike many inflammatory posts.
“He actually deleted 17 posts and unfollowed 300 accounts after filming ended, so who knows what else he was up to…” wrote one fan on Reddit.
Devin also spoke out on social media after a fan wrote, “Imagine being a Trump supporter in 2024.”
The candidate replied: “Imagine feeling the need to voice your opinion when he doesn’t lift a finger over you. Go touch some grass, brother.”
Reddit fans commented on Devin’s internet activity.
“I love that he’s correcting course by liking more Joe Biden posts than I do as a liberal,” wrote one fan.
“The sudden likes on Biden/Harris posts aren’t fooling anyone,” another added.

After filming wrapped, Jenn admitted she was “very happy” with the way her season ended. “I’m very happy with the ending and I’m very happy with how everything turned out,” Tran told People. “I learned so much about myself and what I want out of a relationship every day I was there. There was so much growth.”
It’s unclear if Jenn and Devin will discuss Devin’s past behavior during the After the Final Rose special. Given the current tensions with Devin, it’s likely that host Jesse Palmer will ask the couple about it.
