Tennessee Titans’ offensive in the preseason well in view

Tennessee Titans’ offensive in the preseason well in view

The Tennessee Titans completely revamped their offense this offseason to help second-year quarterback Will Levis.

The Titans already deployed wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and running back Tyjae Spears and bolstered their offense with several key players to help Levis get the best possible result.

Still, Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox still questions whether the Titans have done enough to improve the situation.

“Tennessee signed Ridley, signed running back Tony Pollard, drafted offensive tackle JC Latham and hired an offensive coach in Brian Callahan who turned Joe Burrow into a top-five quarterback in Cincinnati,” Knox writes. “While Callahan probably won’t show much of his offense in the preseason, he should look at how new additions like Latham and Ridley fit. If Tennessee doesn’t think it has enough to properly evaluate Levis in year two, it may need to consider signing more players before Week 1.”

If the Titans haven’t done enough to improve Levis on offense, they may need to point the finger at quarterback. Sure, Hopkins is out with an injury that could extend his recovery time into the regular season, and he has a rookie left tackle in JC Latham who played right guard in college at Alabama, but there are enough resources to make Levis a better quarterback.

The Titans made these upgrades to give Levis a fair chance to succeed and give them enough of an idea of whether he can truly be a franchise quarterback. While any team can always do more to help their cause, the Titans have done enough with Levis that he has no one to point the finger at but himself when things go wrong.

The Titans begin their preseason tomorrow against the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT.
