The boy is said to have the mental state of a 5-year-old child, a Chinese news portal reported. South China Morning PostThe surgeons reportedly told the boy that the breast augmentation would help him supplement his income through live streaming.

The report highlighted certain excerpts from conversations between the 19-year-old and the beauty clinic staff. It was found that the boy had applied for a job at the clinic that reportedly paid a monthly salary of 3,000 yuan ($400).

The victim’s mother, surnamed Lu, lives in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province. She was quoted by a Chinese media outlet as saying that her son underwent the surgery on July 28 after following the advice of staff at a local beauty clinic.

The mother described her family’s situation in shock: “When our family found out about it, we were absolutely shocked. It was as if the sky was falling. He is only 19 years old.”

The victim also reportedly asked about vacancies at the clinic, whereupon the staff told him: “You can have the breast surgery first and start working once you recover.”

The victim took out a loan of $4,075 to pay back the operation

This concerned the boy who also reportedly told the staff at the beauty clinic that usually “women undergo such procedures”. He also shared that he did not have enough money for the operation, but the staff deceived him by saying that the operation was “okay for men too”.

The beauty clinic staff then told the victim that he could take a loan and afford the surgery and repay the amount with his earnings from live streaming. They also told him that he could start live streaming once he recovered.

“We have a lot of live streamers who get plastic surgery here and make a lot of money. Some platforms allow payouts within a week, some even allow daily payouts,” he was told.

The woman then reportedly passed on medical reports that said her son was suffering from depression and anxiety and was mentally at the level of a five-year-old. The mother then turned to the media in China and demanded justice and help.

Many people criticized the beauty clinic and its staff for mistreating the boy. “What? A 19-year-old boy? Breast augmentation? I can’t believe my eyes,” one person said on social media.

“Giving breast implants to a 19-year-old boy with the intelligence of a five-year-old. These people are beasts,” said another.
