Normally TFT is an individual sport, but the EWC features a special four-on-four player format where the top-ranked team in each match decides which team wins overall based on the individual performance of the four players. For this reason, professional organizations have selected teams to field. Here is a list of the 16 participating teams, separated by the groups they are in during the group stage.

Group A

Group B

Group C

Group D

As explained above, in this format, two teams of four players each enter a standard 8-player lobby and compete against each other in a free-for-all format, with the goal of achieving a higher overall team placement than the other team. Players receive points based on their placement in each game. At the end of each game, the team with the most points combined wins. Each game consists of two games, with a best-of-three format.

The group stage follows the double elimination (GSL) format, where each group of four is divided into two teams of four, each of which must win two games and lose two. From this group, two teams advance, with the first team winning two games in a row and the next being the team that wins the playoff between the loser of the Winners Match and the winner of the Elimination Match.

The eight teams that advance will play in an eight-team knockout system. All matches except the Grand Final will be played in best-of-three format, with the Grand Final in best-of-five format.

The tournament will be played offline from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and will run for four consecutive days. Here is the schedule for when play will start on each day, with times in Saudi Arabia’s local time. For reference, Saudi Arabia is 10 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time.

For the TFT tournament in the EWC, there is an official broadcast stream with casters and analysts that can be viewed for free on their YouTube and Twitch channels.
