The Hub City Spartanburgers are hosting a special event for upstate Texas Rangers fans next month.
On September 8, it will be the turn of the High-A affiliate of the Texas team from South Carolina to hold the 2023 Texas Rangers World Series Trophy in their hands.
Fans can take a photo by or with the World Series trophy this Sunday during the new team’s fourth public celebration in downtown Spartanburg at a free event at Rockers Brewing Company from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Spartanburgers will also host a private VIP event for partners and season ticket holders earlier in the day at the AC Hotel. Season tickets will be sold through the team’s website.
The award, properly known as the Commissioner’s Trophy, was created in 1967 and was first awarded to the St. Louis Cardinals, according to mlb.com. The version of the trophy on display in Spartanburg was created by Tiffany & Co. in 2000 and is made of sterling silver.

The Rangers won the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on November 1 last year.
The team has held events over the past year to mark the groundbreaking of its stadium and the opening of its team store, but the biggest event to date was the team name announcement in May, when thousands of fans gathered on Daniel Morgan Avenue for a street party and fireworks.
The team’s first home game is scheduled for April 15 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
