At any given time, there are dozens of photographers out and about in Gloucestershire, capturing snapshots of life, from news to sport to live entertainment.

Here you will find a selection of pictures taken in the district in the last few days.

Eyes to the sky: The week in Gloucestershire began with the chance to see a summer moon.

Although it is known as a blue moon, it appeared red because there was smoke from North American wildlife in the atmosphere over Britain.

Epic effort: Gloucester rugby legend Billy Twelvetrees led a 24-hour challenge to cycle 350 miles from the city to Leicester, Milton Keynes and Twickenham and then back again.

The 4Ed Cycling Challenge raised thousands of pounds for charities fighting Motor Neurone Disease, supporting former teammate Ed Slater, who was diagnosed with MND two years ago.

Investigation: An arson attack on a public toilet in Bedford Street, Stroud, on Thursday has been described as “regrettable”.

Stroud District Council confirmed that the facility will remain closed until repairs are completed, saying: “The repairs are likely to cost several thousand pounds of taxpayers’ money.”

Westonbirt Arboretum has built two new play areas to help children connect with nature.

The life of a child: This joyful photo was taken at Westonbirt Arboretum at one of two new playgroundsincluding walkways, tree nets, rope bridges and climbing frames.

Created in collaboration with Forestry England and the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum, the ‘natural playgrounds’ aim to encourage children to develop a connection with nature.

New Home: Young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the country are delighted to help raise £100,000 for a new home.

Chapter One offers sessions after school, during holidays and on weekends for 100 young people, a service that one mother described as “a huge change for our family.”
