Steph Curry joins LeBron James and Michael Jordan on the historic list after the Olympic Games

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry was a hero for Team USA in the final two games of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Curry came within one point of Carmelo Anthony’s record for most points in a game for Team USA, finishing with 36 points in the semifinal match against Serbia.

Following his 24-point performance against Serbia in the gold medal game against France, Curry wowed the basketball world with his shooting performance in the fourth quarter. Curry hit four three-pointers in the fourth quarter alone and took the lead down the stretch to end any hopes France had of a comeback against Team USA.

This was Curry’s first Olympic appearance and possibly his only one. At 36 years old, Curry will be 40 when the 2028 Olympics are held in Los Angeles, so it’s safe to assume he might only make one Olympic appearance and if that’s the case, he made the most of his one appearance.

Following his performance in the gold medal game, the Warriors announced that Curry joined Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird as the fifth player in NBA history to win at least four NBA championships, two league MVP awards and an Olympic gold medal.

Jordan’s tenure with the Chicago Bulls has landed him on nearly every such list, as the six-time NBA champion is still considered by many to be the greatest player in basketball history. Many also believe James deserves that title as he continues to solidify his position with more career success.
