As Universal Orlando Resort prepares to open its newest theme park, Epic Universe, anticipation is building with a first look at Stardust Racers in Celestial Park. This area, the first that guests will explore before venturing into the world of Universal’s newest theme park, includes the impressive 5,000-foot-long Stardust Racers track that stretches across the Celestial Park skyline.
Until now, details about Stardust Racers have been few and far between. It’s known as a dueling roller coaster where thrill-seekers can reach speeds of up to 62 miles per hour and soar up to 133 feet. To complement the cosmic atmosphere of Celestial Park, the attraction lacks traditional track lighting, so the fully illuminated vehicles mimic shooting stars in the night sky. Today’s reveal brings more details and builds excitement as we countdown to Epic Universe’s grand opening.
Universal Orlando Resort places an emphasis on storytelling in its attractions, and Stardust Racers is a prime example of that. The narrative unveiled today reveals that the Celestians, the residents of Celestial Park, have mastered the ability to harness the energy of the universe. This power allows them to jump on comets and surf across the sky.
A highlight of today’s reveal was the “Celestial Spin,” a stunning maneuver in which two coaster vehicles perform an inverted crossover. As they soar through the air, riders can catch a glimpse of the other vehicle below them before they quickly switch positions. Today’s release from Universal Orlando Resort included real footage of this maneuver, demonstrating its innovative design.
We were also able to take a closer look at the rides for Stardust Racers. Particularly notable is the exterior lighting, which mimics the look of comets, in keeping with Universal Creatives’ vision.
Stardust Racers is just one of many exciting attractions premiering at Epic Universe next year. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of magical worlds, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe and SUPER NINTENDO WORLD. Each area promises unique adventures and immersive experiences for guests of all ages.
