Spreckels Organ Society announces annual classic rock concert on Labor Day

The Spreckels Organ Society – a non-profit organization that organizes concerts and performances in the heart of Balboa Park – concludes its 36th annual San Diego International Summer Organ Festival with a Labor Day Classic Rock Concert, Monday, September 2, 7:30 p.m.

This year’s concert includes music by The doors And Pink FloydThe concert will also include a psychedelic experience with projections on the front of the pavilion.

“There’s something very special about the Spreckels Organ – and experiencing it with a rock band is really next level!” said Raúl Prieto Ramirez, San Diego Civic Organist and Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society. “We are so excited to close the festival with a true explosion of music, matching the colors projected onto the pavilion.”

The 7-piece Spreckels Organ Pavilion Rock Band consists of Ben Zinn, guitar; Chloe Lou, vocals; Harley Magsino, bass guitar; Lauren Leigh, vocals and guitar; Richard “T-Bone” Larson, drums; Raul Prieto Ramirez, organ; and William Flemming, vocals.

In addition to the special summer performances, the Spreckels Organ Pavilion also hosts weekly concerts every Sunday at 2 p.m. Thanks to the generosity of the City of San Diego, the Spreckels Organ Society’s weekly concerts at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion are offered free of charge, in accordance with the 1915 deed of gift by which brothers John and Adolph Spreckels donated the organ and pavilion to the City of San Diego. Donations are always appreciated.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Balboa Park outdoor venue at 2125 Pan American Road, the performances offer guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The upscale music venue brings world-class musicians to San Diego residents and visitors, who can enjoy the world’s largest outdoor musical instrument for free!
