After the WBNA signed star player Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky have become one of the hottest sports teams in the city – and this week one of the most in-demand games of the year takes place.
On Friday at 6:30 p.m., the Sky will face Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at Wintrust Arena. According to ticket marketplace StubHub, the game is the Sky’s “best-selling game” for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Sky’s best-selling ticket so far was the game in Chicago against the Fever on June 23, Stubhub said.
There are still a few seats available for the big game. Prices start at $146 on Ticketmaster and $125 on Stubhub.
According to Ticketmaster, courtside seats for Friday’s Sky vs. Fever game can cost as much as $3,500.
The big game comes shortly after the unveiling of Sky’s new mascot: Skye the Lioness. According to the team, the lioness was chosen because she “embodies strength, feminine power, grace and the courage to overcome obstacles.”
The team’s existing mascot, Sky Guy, who debuted in 2006, will continue to appear at games through the end of the season.
In the WNBA rankings, the Sky are currently ranked 8th with 11 wins and 19 losses. The Indiana Fever are ranked 7th with 15 wins and 16 losses.
