We are back at Hillman!

Accordingly Deadline, “Another world” A sequel, which revolves around Dwayne and Whitley’s daughter, is in early development at Netflix. The successful spinoff of the “Cosby Show” followed the lives of students at the fictional Hillman College and sparked a love of HBCU worldwide and became a pillar of culture. A student couple became a lasting symbol for Black Love, the story of Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison) and Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy) has stayed with us over the years. Now a new sequel will tell this love story, focusing on the couple’s daughter, who is now studying at Hillman, her parents’ alma mater.

Original show creators Debbie AllenTom Werner, Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Bythewood all return as executive producers. Felicia Pride (Bel AirGrey’s Anatomy) will also serve as a writer and executive producer. Casting for the half-hour comedy series has not yet begun, but reports say reactions from original cast members to reprising their roles have been positive.

The original cast of A Different World recently reunited to discuss the impact and legacy of the show and to prepare for a 10-City HBCU Tour to encourage student enrollment at historically black colleges.

Now Hillman is returning for a new generation and we can’t wait! It’s not yet known when the series will air.
