Seneca County IDA requests funding increase to support economic growth

The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is seeking a significant financial injection from the county, requesting $100,000 for 2025 – nearly double its current annual allocation of $54,000.

In a letter to Board of Supervisors Chairman Mike Enslow and Ways and Means Committee Chair Elizabeth Partee, IDA Executive Director Sarah Davis stressed that more funds are needed to cover rising operating costs and ongoing economic development efforts, including the redevelopment of the former Willard Drug Treatment Campus in Romulus.

Davis noted that the IDA’s revenue from agency fees is unpredictable, making reliable county funding essential for strategic investments. The request will be considered when the county prepares its 2025 budget.
