Prime Video has released the trailer for Secret levela new video game anthology series from the creative team behind Love & Robots. During the global Gamescom Opening Night Live livestream, Prime Video released the trailer for the anthology series, which features original short stories set in the worlds of popular video games, including Mega Man, PAC-MAN, God of War, Warhammerand many more. Prime Video has set the premiere date for December 10, 2024.

Secret level was developed by Tim Miller and his production company Blur Studios. Miller is best known as the director of the 2016 film The Last Man. Dead Poolbut his company, Blur Studios, has a long history in the video game space and has worked on titles such as Star Wars: The Old Republic, Dark Souls IIAnd Batman: Arkham Knight. Blur Studios is also responsible for the critically acclaimed Netflix anthology series Love, death and robots. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, spoke via Deadline about the upcoming series.

The world of video games in short story format

Many of the titles in Secret level have been or are currently being adapted in other projects. Dungeons & Dragons recently released the critically acclaimed Honor among thieves in 2023. Netflix developed a Mega Man The film was announced for Netflix in 2021, but no news has been released about this project recently. Warhammer Fan Henry Cavill has tried to launch a cinematic universe in which Prime Video was also involved, and Secret level could be the proof of concept he needs. The most interesting addition could be Kratos from the God of War video game series, probably in the PlayStation highlight episode, as Prime Video is also working on a God of War television series.

After the box office disaster of Borderland (where Tim Miller was particularly responsible for the re-shoots), video game adaptations need a win to get back on solid ground. December is shaping up to be a big month in this regard, because shortly after Secret Levels Premieres on Prime Video, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be released on December 20, 2024. Miller is also a producer of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, so it looks like a very nice holiday season for him. If Love & Robots is all you can go by, Secret level will offer fans some beautiful short films that bring these wonderful games to life in unique and exciting ways.
