Timothy Michael Merwarth59 years old, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 9, 2024 after a brave battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Quakertown and is lovingly remembered by his parents, Harry S. Merwarth and Carol S. (Baker) Merwarth of Hellertown, his niece Trisha Merwarth and nephew Todd J Merwarth Jr., both of Hellertown, and his devoted companion Tracey Kieffer of Lehighton. He also leaves behind five children, several grandchildren, a brother and four sisters.

He graduated from Saucon Valley High School and then attended technical school where he earned degrees in electrical and plumbing. He founded and operated Merwarth Moving and Distribution.

He taught Sunday school, led Bible studies for men, and operated the sound system at church services.

Private funeral services may be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the family plot at Durham Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Kenneth James Dirkes, Jr.65, of Minersville, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away Sunday, August 11, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill-East, Pottsville.

He was born on May 12, 1959 in Camden, NJ to Kathleen (Dougherty) Dirkes, Oxford, NJ and the late Kenneth J. Dirkes, Sr. He was raised in Milltown, NJ and graduated from East Brunswick (NJ) Vocational School.

He began his career as a welder and eventually became a member of Teamsters Local 282, where he worked as a truck driver in the New York City area.

He liked motorcycles, music and, above all, spending time with family and friends.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 33 years, the former Michele Jakubowski, and all of his beloved children and grandchildren, including Daniel Dirkes and Angelica May. The eldest of five children, he is also survived by four younger siblings: Bonnie Gardner (husband Dave), Oxford NJ, Deborah Kenney (partner Manny Sevdalis), Easton PA, Daniel Glenn Dirkes (partner Tracey Hart), Milltown NJ, and Kathleen Statz (husband Steve), Robbinsville, NJ; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will take place according to the family’s wishes. The Dutcavich Funeral Home will cover the costs.
