Royal Oak Bar and bookstore team up next week for the Grown Up Book Fair

A beer bar and bookstore in Royal Oak are teaming up for a “book fair for adults.” Sidetrack Bookshop and North End Taproom will host the book fair on August 27 and 28.

According to the two companies, the book fair will give adults the opportunity to relive the excitement of book fairs they experienced as children.

Sidetrack Bookshop, an independent bookstore in Royal Oak, offers a selection of new releases and popular titles in fiction and nonfiction, as well as book-related gifts.

People can browse the book fair while enjoying food and drinks from the North End Taproom. North End features 40 self-serve taps with a selection of craft beers, bottled water and wine.

“We’re so excited to celebrate the joy of back to school with North End,” said Jenny Carney, co-founder of Sidetrack Bookshop. “Our first North End adult book fair had people lining the block on a cold January evening. What better way to enjoy the last days of summer and the start of a new school year than with the excitement of new books and great food and drink?”

“We had a lot of fun working with Sidetrack on the last book fair and are excited to partner with them again!” says Katheryn Stoia, owner of North End Taproom. “This time, we can open the taproom’s garage doors so the community can really enjoy the end of the summer season during this event.”

The book fair will take place over two days at the Taproom at 111 S. Main St. in Royal Oak. It will take place on August 27th from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on August 28th from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
