COLLINS, Miss. (WDAM) – A section of South 7th Street that intersects the access road to Covington County Hospital will be temporarily closed beginning Tuesday, August 27.
The closure is expected to last about a week to allow the City of Collins to complete the final steps of installing new culverts.
To accommodate this change, diversions have been put in place.
For northbound detours, drivers can access the Covington County Hospital Emergency Department by turning right onto South 4th Street from the northbound Highway 49 service road. Drivers can then turn right onto Komo Street, then right onto South Holly Avenue, and then right onto Hospital Boulevard to the Emergency Department.
To get to CCH Clinic Family Medical, drivers can turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard between the Civic Center and Priority Bank, then turn right onto Hospital Boulevard and continue to the clinic.
For southbound detours, drivers can turn left from the southbound Highway 49 Service Road, cross Highway 49 and turn onto South 4th Street, then turn right onto Komo Street, then right onto South Holly Avenue, and finally turn right onto Hospital Boulevard to access the Emergency Department.
Drivers can take an alternate route by turning left onto Civic Center Boulevard between the Civic Center and Priority Bank, then turning left onto Hospital Boulevard to reach the emergency room.
To reach CCH Clinic Family Medical heading south, drivers can turn left onto Civic Center Boulevard between the Civic Center and Priority Bank, then turn right onto Hospital Boulevard and continue to the clinic.
During the road closure, signs will be posted along the designated route.
