FORT WORTH, Texas – Quarterback of the University of Utah football team Cameron’s rise was named to the Davey O’Brien Award Preseason Watch List, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced today.

Rising is one of 36 players on the watch list, including eight from the Big 12. He was a semifinalist for the 2022 Davey O’Brien Award.

The MVP of the 2022 Pac-12 title game is a two-time All-Conference selection and a first-team selection in 2021. His overall winning record is 18-6, which ranks fifth all-time for Utah.

The Ventura, California native enters the 2024 season with 15 career games with over 200 passing yards, including two 300-yard games and one 400-yard game. In two consecutive seasons (2021, 2022), Rising ranked in the top 10 of ESPN’s QBR rating, including No. 6 in 2021.

In just 27 career games (25 starts), Rising is already in the top 10 all-time at Utah in passes completed (7th, 456), touchdown passes (T-6th, 46) and passing yards (7th, 5,572). He is also the third-best player all-time in pass efficiency (147.38) and the fourth-best player in pass completion percentage (0.641).
