Registration for Walk for Life 2024 and Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon, 5 km, opened

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – Registration has opened for the 2024 Walk for Life and Prisma Health Midlands Foundation (PHMF) Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon and 5K.

This annual event brings thousands of Midlands residents together to raise awareness of breast cancer and honor breast cancer survivors and takes place on the morning of October 12th in Segra Park.

“It is incredibly empowering to see thousands in the community come together each year to honor breast cancer survivors and support those who continue their fight,” said Jeffrey Faw, PHMF executive director. “Walk for Life has a profound impact on the community by raising funds for Prisma Health Breast Centers and supporting patients and families affected by the disease. It is truly a special day.”

Since its inception in 1991, Walk for Life has raised over $12 million for breast cancer programs and services. Money raised at the event funds technology such as the Hologic Clarity HD high-resolution 3D mammography imaging unit at Baptist Parkridge Hospital, which PHMF says is the newest and most innovative mammography unit on the market.

You can register for the event on the Walk for Life website. All registrations include an event t-shirt and registered breast cancer survivors will receive a commemorative scarf.

Registration for the walk or 5K race is $45. The Aflac Fun Run is $15 and the half marathon is $80. Registration for the half marathon is $90 on September 1 and $100 on October 1.

You can register individually or as part of a team.
