Regional political leaders take part in campaign visit for warehousing

At a recent event, politicians from across the district were invited to take a look behind the scenes of the local warehousing industry to highlight its importance.

Property company Potter Space hosted political leaders at its Droitwich Business Park premises as part of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA)’s ‘Around the Warehouses in 80 Visits’ campaign.

Droitwich MP Nigel Huddleston, Elmley Lovett Parish Councillor Nicholas Wright and Wychavon District Council Head of Economic Development Shaun Riley were welcomed to the site on Wednesday 7 August.

The campaign is a national initiative by UKWA to mark the organisation’s 80th anniversary in 2024. Clare Bottle, CEO of UKWA, will visit 80 warehouses across the UK.

Clare Bottle, CEO of UKWA, said: “With this campaign we want to raise awareness of the millions of people who work in warehousing and the incredible work they do.

“Events like this help to raise the profile of the sector and showcase the innovative strength and diversity of the companies operating there.”

During the tour, guests visited several of Potter Space’s existing tenants to gain a better insight into the diverse business activities at the park.

Jason Rockett, Managing Director of Potter Space, said: “Potter Space is proud to host this important event as part of UKWA’s 80th anniversary celebrations.

“We are excited to showcase the success of our existing customers and share our plans for future development.”
