This is the last open practice before the Cincinnati Bengals’ first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Paycor Stadium.
To say it was full of highlights from quarterback Joe Burrow would be an understatement. He and Tee Higgins showed their connection all day long, and the quarterback looked as close to 100% as he has ever been all camp.
There is also a lot of crowds, so enjoy the videos
Who is in and who is out?

No McKinnley Jackson at Bengals practice. Last camp practice of the week as the team prepares for Saturday’s game on Thursday at Paycor.

Having Trey Hendrickson and Sheldon Rankins back in practice is great as the positions are getting thinner with a slew of injuries piling up on that side of the trenches. Hendrickson missed almost all of training camp, so his return is great. However, missing three defensive tackles on the day doesn’t bode well for what the depth at the position might look like during Saturday’s game.
And Ja’Marr Chase is still not participating in practice. He has caught a few passes, though.
Burrow hurls arrows
Bengals QB Joe Burrow caps off a successful ball-moving drill with three consecutive throws to RB Zack Moss, including a TD pass on third down and goal at the 3rd.

Burrow cooked up a nice five-course meal on Wednesday. He shot all over the field, hitting several different targets, both from the pocket and from outside. He took what the defense gave him, and that’s just dangerous when he moves it like that.
Zac Taylor has said Burrow could participate in the preseason this year, so we could see that sooner rather than later.
Camp Scrum Season
Andrei Iosivas takes a hit from Vonn Bell and Germaine Pratt, and Ted Karras takes major umbrage. “This is fucking ridiculous” – practice almost gets out of control in the heat. Note the presence of Ja’Marr Chase at the end of the huddle. pic.twitter.com/G8cOxMjole

High temperatures and pads usually lead to heated tempers. It seems the defense got a little more physical than the offense would have liked. Of course, there was trash talk too. Every team has that sort of thing at some point in camp. It’s just the natural course of things at this point in training camp.
It seems that center Ted Karras and the offense were laughing at linebacker Logan Wilson and the defense that day.
Generally good things
Burrow also threw away this dime.
Germaine Pratt describes the conflicts in the camp from his perspective: “It’s about physicality, it’s football, what do we do?”
