Random: Man sets world record by connecting over 400 working game consoles to a TV

A man set a Guinness World Record for having the highest number of unique, working video game consoles connected to a television. Here’s how to make the most of your collection… (Thanks to our friends at Time Extension for spotting this!)

Ibrahim Al-Nasser from Saudi Arabia managed to connect 444 video game consoles – each one different – to a single TV. And every single one works. Is there a fire hazard? Maybe. But we’re more worried about all the cables behind the TV. However, Al-Nasser has a method of keeping all the cables there hidden and neat. He also connects them all with around 30 RCA switchers, 12 HDMI switchers, converters and more.

His consoles range from classics like the Super Nintendo, N64, PlayStation and Neo Geo to lesser-known ones like the Super A’Can and Magnavox Odyssey, the world’s very first video game console. The collection also includes arcade machines, plug-and-plays and computers – we also spotted a Steam Deck. So realistically, this collection is only going to get bigger.

But what if he wants to play Super Mario 64 or Sonic the Hedgehog? It’s simple: Al-Nasser has a spreadsheet that tells him which switch or converter each console is connected to. All he has to do is find the game in the Excel spreadsheet, then find the switch and flip the switch. Done!

With so many gaming consoles, you might think Al-Nasser would have an unusual favorite console, but no. His favorite console of all time is the Sega Genesis. Not a bad choice at all.

We have some good collectors here in the NL Towers, but we can’t compete with 444 game consoles and a room that looks like a museum. We could be a little jealous… Seriously, How?
