Ralph Fiennes open to Harry Potter return

Ralph Fiennes open to Harry Potter return

Ralph Fiennes is interested in returning to “Harry Potter.”

The 59-year-old star played villain Lord Voldemort in the series based on JK Rowling’s novels and confirmed he would be willing to reprise the role if the chance arose.

When asked by Variety if he would play Voldemort again, Ralph said, “Sure, of course. No question.”

Ralph’s revelation comes after Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav said he wants to make more “Harry Potter” films.

The media manager confirmed that the organization is seeking Rowling’s approval to produce another magical film.

Zaslav said: “We will focus on franchises. We haven’t had a Superman movie in 13 years. We haven’t made a Harry Potter movie in 15 years. The DC movies and the Harry Potter movies have generated a lot of Warner Bros’ profits for the last 25 years.”

On the prospect of more Potter films, he added: “If we can do something with JK on Harry Potter in the future.”

Rowling sparked controversy in 2020 with comments on Twitter that many viewed as transphobic, and several cast members, including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, distanced themselves from her.

Fiennes recently defended the author against the “verbal abuse” and death threats she has faced because of her outspoken views.

The James Bond star said: “JK Rowling has written these great books about empowerment, about little children finding themselves as human beings.

“It’s about how to become a better, stronger, more morally sound person. The verbal abuse that is directed at them is disgusting, it’s horrific.”

Ralph continued, “I mean, I can understand a point of view that is angry at what she says about women. But it’s not an obscene, ultra-right fascist. It’s just a woman saying, ‘I’m a woman and I feel like I’m a woman and I want to be able to say I’m a woman.’ And I understand where she’s coming from. Even though I’m not a woman.”
