Quentin Tarantino sells unseen Pulp Fiction scenes as NFTs

Quentin Tarantino sells unseen Pulp Fiction scenes as NFTs

Quentin Tarantino is selling seven never-before-seen “Pulp Fiction” scenes as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The acclaimed director has announced that he is venturing into the world of cryptocurrencies by auctioning uncut scenes from the 1994 black comedy starring John Travolta and Uma Thurman.

The scenes are sold as secret NFTs on OpenSea, the world’s largest NFT marketplace – giving the owner the choice to publicly display ownership of the token or keep it secret.

The NFTs are also encrypted with the artist’s signature to confirm their ownership and authenticity, allowing “original versions” of popular online content – such as viral memes and tweets – to be sold as if they were physical works of art.

In addition to the seven scenes, uncut first handwritten scripts from “Pulp Fiction” and an exclusive commentary by Tarantino that will “reveal secrets about the film and its creator” will also be auctioned.

The 58-year-old filmmaker said in a statement: “I’m excited to bring fans these exclusive scenes from ‘Pulp Fiction.’ Secret Network and Secret NFTs offer a whole new world of connecting fans and artists and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

The statement continued: “The secret content itself is unique, never seen or heard before, and includes the uncut first handwritten scripts of ‘Pulp Fiction’ as well as exclusive commentary from Tarantino revealing secrets about the film and its creator.”

“The NFT’s public metadata – the ‘cover image’ of this exclusive content – is itself rare: a unique, never-before-seen work of art available to the public.”
