Delawareans would probably bet that the Small Wonder’s lifestyle and amenities make for an unbeatable experience, but a recent report puts Delaware in the middle of the pack when it comes to quality of life.

Here’s a breakdown of Delaware’s national rankings and a comparison to other states.

Does Delaware have a good quality of life?

CNBC recently released its America’s Best States for Business in 2024 report, which ranks each state on 128 metrics across ten broad categories to determine the states with the best and worst business prospects.

One of the categories is quality of life, which accounts for 13% of each state’s total score. Quality of life criteria include child care, crime, healthcare, environmental quality, worker protections, inclusivity, personal freedom, and legal protections against discrimination.

Delaware ranks 27th in the nation in terms of quality of life.

In CNBC’s report, Delaware ranks 34th overall in the economy, with the other categories ranked as follows:

  • No. 23 for infrastructure
  • No. 44 for the costs of business activities
  • No. 35 for Technology and Innovation
  • Rank 46 for business friendliness
  • No. 26 for access to capital
  • No. 14 for cost of living
