The City Council agenda for its meeting on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. is out. The meeting will also be broadcast on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 39. See you online (live and archived).

The council will meet at 5:30 p.m. and is expected to move to an executive session to discuss contract negotiations and litigation.

The official office hours of the mayor and other officials have been suspended.

Let’s look at the order of business and the highlights of the 15 agenda items.

  • Subsidy for the future. Future considerations for improvements at Rye Nature Center.
  • Show me the money. Presentation of 6-month financial results by Auditor Joe Fazzino.
  • Porous plaster. Award of tender for the Grass Pave System Project (Sterling Berms Project) (Contract No. 2024-08).
  • Building the future of Rye, for $95 million. Presentation of the City’s 5-year capital improvement program.
  • Yes? Report to City Council on the Mead Place Parking District.
  • Due on Friday. Resolution of the City of Rye Council authorizing the submission of an application under the Green Resiliency Grant Program.
  • Taxation. Adoption of the 2024-2025 tax levy and rate for the Rye Neck Union Free School District. Attendance control.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
