Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is being bombarded with criticism on Steam as Activision is in trouble with fans over the cancellation of a highly anticipated mod called H2M. Although it was a popular entry in the series when it was first released in 2016, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is currently at the center of controversy after over 1,000 negative reviews were posted about the title in just one day.

As fans prepared for the release of H2M, a highly anticipated mod for Modern Warfare Remastered which is a remaster of the 2009 Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare Remastered saw a huge influx of players flocking to the title to prepare for the mod’s release on August 16. Given that new Call of Duty Titles are published annually, Modern Warfare Remastered had been relatively dormant in terms of player numbers for many years. While the surge in players was theoretically due to the H2M mod, a sale that allowed Steam users to purchase the shooter at a 50% discount also contributed to the surge.

Although H2M required players to purchase an official copy of Modern Warfare Remastered, it is doubtful that Activision will reverse its decision and allow the mod to be released, despite the massive outcry from the community.
