Police catch suspected armed robber in FCT and find stolen car

Officers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have arrested armed robbery suspect Micheal Uke at a guest house in Jabi area of ​​Abuja, with a stolen car and other evidence.

The car, a Toyota Corolla with registration number ABC 258 LD, was hijacked at gunpoint on May 2, 2024, along Kuje-Airport Road in Abuja.

FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, saying: “Using digital reconstruction information, operatives of the command were able to trace the vehicle to an Ifego Guest Inn in Jabi, owned by one Micheal Uke.

“The suspect had replaced the vehicle’s registration number with another one which read REG NO: AGD 146 JP. During the search, one (1) POS device, one (1) knife, glass solvent, one (1) military jungle hat and the original REG NO. of the vehicle were discovered in his possession.”

The PPRO, however, noted: “While investigations are still ongoing, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, reiterates the unwavering commitment of the command to protect the lives and properties of FCT residents.”
