Testing of the rides at Universal’s Epic Universe continues!

We’ve been following construction at Epic Universe closely, and with all the recent news on the last confirmed section of the park, an upcoming nighttime show, and Universal starting to implement size restrictions on some of its rides, it begs the question as to how quickly some of these rides and entire sections might be completed.

Now that all of Universal’s Epic Universe lands have been announced, it’s hard to decide which one you want to visit first. However, if you’re someone who’s just drawn to one of the lands with roller coasters you can’t wait to see in action, you won’t have to wait long for some of them!

While looking for progress updates on construction at Epic Universe, we came across some that we found quite interesting! @bioreconstruct captured a short video of a rollercoaster in motion. The Curse of the Werewolf in the Dark Universe.

This trip is announced as Spinning Coaster for the whole family inspired by The Wolf Man and its plot takes you deep into the forests of Darkmoor.

According to Universal, riders enter “the lair of the Guild of Mystics, where they are greeted by Maleva, the all-knowing seer and leader of the Guild, who warns them that they bear the mark of the werewolf.” When this roller coaster was last spotted testing its rides, it was still in the rumor phase before full details of the ride (and the terrain) were revealed.

In addition, something else was discovered that piqued our interest in this area. If you have been a fan of Universal Studios Florida for a long time, you may remember these statues of Gill Man from The horror of the Amazon, Frankenstein (technically Frankenstein’s monster) and The Wolf Man exhibited outside the now closed Monster’s Café.

These giant statues were spotted in a collection area (and hilariously showed the same iconic look as before She and the restaurant were removed in 2022 to make way for Minion Land and especially Minion Cafe).

We actually got more than we expected here, because we were also able to take a train in Hiccup’s winged gliders Roller coaster located in How to Train Your Dragon: Island of Berk. What struck us as interesting was that there was a dragon figure in a different color attached to the front of each train.

These are certainly cool details to discover, and we are excited to see what further testing will be done on each ride as construction progresses and until each ride is completed.
