That’s it from us for another week, dear reader, and we say goodbye with a new song from the upcoming album of the great Paul Kelly – For his latest album “The fever still longs” recorded at Neil Finn’s Roundhead studio in New Zealand, he explores the theme of love – as he describes it: “The fire of love. The pain of love. Love of family. Love intertwined with memories and places.” And what better to evoke love than this childhood memory, so fresh and yet so hazy that the past really does seem like a foreign land. “When I look back at what we’ve done with these songs, it really is a band record,” says Kelly. “It got me thinking about the longevity of the band, this bunch. Peter Luscombe (drums) has been with me for more than 30 years, Bill McDonald (bass) and Dan Kelly (guitar) for 20. Even newcomers Cameron Bruce (keys) and Ash Naylor (guitar) have been with me since 2007. “Our philosophy is eclectic; we want each song to be different from the last. I just love that a new song I introduce to them can take on a whole new life.” “The fever still longs” is out November 1st via Cooking Vinyl and as with everything this man produces, we’ll be jumping on it. Please support your local Palestine events if you can. Stay safe and have fun.
