Patria, Finland and Latvia sign Life Cycle Management contract

Patria, Finland and Latvia sign Life Cycle Management contract

Patria has signed a Life Cycle Management (LCM) contract with Finland and Latvia for the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program based on the Patria 6×6 vehicle. Other CAVS countries may join the contract later. The contract will extend the CAVS commonality principle and ensure cooperation and cost-effectiveness for the entire life cycle of the system.

In the contract, the parties jointly agree to provide lifecycle management services necessary to maintain the CAVS vehicles and related functions throughout the fleet lifecycle. The contract will increase national security of supply in the partner countries through joint lifecycle management services and products. The CAVS LCM contract is based on the Patria OPTIME service concept, a modular service model tailored to customer needs and requirements, covering a wide range of services and solutions impacting fleet availability.

The CAVS programme currently covers Finland, Latvia, Sweden and Germany. After the LCM contract is added, the programme will comprise three framework agreements: research and development, manufacturing and maintenance, and the contractual structure for the entire life cycle management.

Mats Warstedt, Senior Vice President, Nordics: “I am pleased that the CAVS program is entering the maintenance phase with the signing of this CAVS LCM contract, which secures a long-term cooperation to keep the fleets fully operational at all times. At the same time, this CAVS LCM contract is the first contract based on Patria OPTIME, which is also an important milestone for this customer-specific service concept.”

The Patria 6×6 vehicle was selected as a common platform for the multinational CAVS program in 2020. CAVS-related Patria 6×6 vehicle deliveries to Latvia, Finland and Sweden are ongoing. Patria has already received orders for almost 700 Patria 6×6 vehicles. The program is open to European countries with similar equipment requirements, subject to the approval of the participating countries.
