Paris Olympics: Lea Friedrich breaks world record in sprint qualification

German Lea Friedrich achieved the fastest time in the women’s sprint qualifying round and beat the world record four times in the flying 200-meter time trial.

Sophie Capewell (Great Britain) achieved a time of 10.132, Ellesse Andrews (New Zealand) 10.108, Emma Finucane (Great Britain) was even faster with 10.067, but Friedrich was the fastest and set the new world record with a time of 10.029.
