Packers honor Wisconsin Literacy at Packers Give Back Game on August 24

The Green Bay Packers announced today that they will honor Wisconsin Literacy as the charity of choice for the Packers Give Back Game on Saturday, August 24.

The preseason game between Green Bay and Baltimore marks the start of the fourth annual Packers Give Back Game, which supports a Wisconsin-based charity by highlighting their work and amplifying their message before and during the game.

Hundreds of Wisconsin Literacy guests will receive a free bus ride to the game, a food and beverage voucher, and tickets to a designated area in the south end zone. Before kickoff, several members of Wisconsin Literacy will take the field to be honored.

“We are excited to have Wisconsin Literacy join the Packers Give Back Game,” said Mark Murphy, Packers President and CEO. “Their commitment to ensuring all Wisconsin residents have the literacy skills they need to pursue their goals and succeed inspires us. We are proud to support their mission and share their cause with our fans. We look forward to the game.”

Wisconsin Literacy is a coalition of literacy agencies committed to changing lives and strengthening communities through knowledge and advocacy. Founded in 1985, the organization supports over 80 member agencies and serves more than 11,000 adult learners and their families statewide. Through partnerships with state government, businesses, communities, and health organizations, Wisconsin Literacy improves literacy and health outcomes for Wisconsin residents.

“Wisconsin Literacy is proud to recognize the Packers and to share this exciting experience with our member organizations, tutors, teachers, students and literacy activists from across the state,” said Jake Gorges, executive director of Wisconsin Literacy. “These dedicated individuals and groups work tirelessly to provide invaluable services, from basic literacy skills to advanced educational support and health care decisions.”

“We work to empower people through education and help them achieve personal and professional goals. By improving literacy, we not only enrich the lives of individuals, but we also strengthen the fabric of our communities. We are deeply grateful and inspired by the Packers’ commitment to raising awareness of literacy across the state.”
