Overnight detours planned at Colonial Life Boulevard and the I-126 interchange in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WOLO)–The Department of Transportation is temporarily closing the I-126 ramps at Colonial Life Boulevard overnight, SCDOT announced.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation said drivers will be detoured via the Greystone Boulevard/Riverbanks Zoo interchange on I-126.

The detour plan for the ramp from Colonial Life Blvd. to I-126 eastbound is as follows:

  • Wednesday, August 21 to Thursday, August 22 from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The detour plan for the I-126 westbound exit to Colonial Life Blvd. is as follows:

  • Wednesday, August 21 to Thursday, August 22 from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

These temporary closures will allow SCDOT to continue road and bridge rehabilitation at the Colonial Life Boulevard interchange as part of Phase 1 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.

Appropriate information signs will be put up for motorists along the diversion route.

Drivers may experience temporary congestion and traffic delays and are advised to exercise caution, plan accordingly and follow posted directions.
