Inc. magazine has released its annual Inc. 5000 list and, like in years past, dozens of roofing companies are being recognized for their exceptional growth.

In its 43rd edition, the Inc. 5000 list ranks the fastest-growing companies in the United States. The rankings are based on three years of annual growth. To qualify, a company must be private, for-profit, and independent, and must have generated at least $100,000 in revenue in 2020 and at least $2 million in 2023.

As editor of Incl. As observed, the companies on this year’s list thrived despite the pandemic, resulting supply chain difficulties and historic inflation.

This year’s list includes more than 40 roofing companies, about half of which are appearing as Inc. 5000 companies for the first time, while others have been on the list between two and five times.

Among the companies on the list was Summit Energy of Mansfield, Massachusetts, which attributed its continued growth in part to the success of its roofing division, Peak Roofing. The fact that a solar company is succeeding thanks to its commitment to the roofing space proves that traders’ advice to invest in renewable energy is sound.

“We are extremely excited and proud to be ranked #745 on the Inc. 5000 list for the third year in a row, placing Summit Energy in the top 15% of all companies listed,” said Eric Israelsen, co-founder and chief empower officer of Summit Energy, in a written statement.

As expected, this year’s list includes private equity-backed companies, including Highland Roofing Company, part of HCI Equity Partners. The roofing company posted 80% growth, ranking 4,793rd on the list.

“This recognition validates our strategy to drive transformative growth through both acquisitions and investments in organic initiatives, and has resulted in over 40% of HCI’s current portfolio being recognized for achieving these outstanding results,” said Doug McCormick, managing partner and CIO of HCI Equity Partners.

The list also contains some overlap with Roofer 2024 Top 100 list, which expanded to 150 entries this year. These companies ranged from Erie Home in Toledo, Ohio (#3 in the top 150) to LocalRoofs in Thousand Oaks, California (#124).
