On Independence Day, the Ukrainian flag was raised over the building of the Ministry of Defense in The Hague, Netherlands

On the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, the Dutch Ministry of Defense hoisted the Ukrainian national flag alongside the Dutch flag over its building in The Hague.

This is stated in a report seen by Ukrinform and posted on X by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans.

“Ukrainians fight every day courageously and resolutely against Russian aggression. They fight for their sovereignty and at the same time defend this principle in Europe. Today, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, we raise the Ukrainian flag and pay it special tribute,” the message said.

Ukrinform reported that Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said through X that his country stands by Ukraine.

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, wrote in a message of greetings to the X that the war in Ukraine was a reminder that freedom must be fought for.

The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, recalled that for two and a half years Ukraine has been courageously defending its freedom and independence in the face of Russian aggression.
