Olivia Attwood is reportedly set to make a surprise return to I’m a Celebrity after leaving the show last year due to health reasons.

The 31-year-old former Love Island contestant quit the ITV series in November after a routine blood test revealed she was anaemic.

The test, which all contestants undergo, also revealed low sodium and potassium levels, prompting the show’s staff to take them to the hospital.

But sources told the Mail on Sunday that bosses had lured the star back for the upcoming series later this year.

The insider said: “Olivia’s time in the jungle last year was intended to give her a platform so ITV could give her a big show.

“They had a great future planned for her. She is a big draw for the coveted younger audience.”

“Then it was all over when the results of her blood tests came back.

“Now they’re bringing her back for this year and starting the whole plan again. ITV bosses know she’ll be so popular on I’m a Celeb… and that viewers will just love her.”

Ms Attwood said she was disappointed to have to leave after just 24 hours in the Australian jungle.

In an interview after her exit, she said: “I was so scared. I just thought, ‘What the hell is wrong with me?’ They couldn’t give me an answer. They just told me they had to take me to the hospital immediately. The results were really, really low.”

But Olivia said when the tests were repeated, the results were normal.

She was then taken to a hotel to sleep while ITV decided whether she could re-enter the camp.

Olivia added: “They said that because of the results that the show’s medical team had received, they were reluctant to release me, even though I had been given a clean bill of health by the hospital.

“They were concerned that my blood sugar levels might drop and this could harm my health and well-being.”

Olivia added that she was “completely devastated” not to be able to return to her camp mates.
