O’Leary explains why Musk in Trump’s cabinet will be “good” for everyone in America and criticizes Walz’s fiscal record

From spaceships to the State of the Union address, could Elon Musk be preparing for a place in Donald Trump’s presidential cabinet?

Shark Tank investor and chairman of O’Leary Ventures Kevin O’Leary reportedly hopes so, as he explained on Tuesday on “The Big Money Show.”

“I’m a big fan of Elon Musk,” O’Leary said in response to the Tesla CEO’s interview with Trump.

“To be completely frank, my son works for him and loves his job at Tesla. And I think (Elon) is a modern-day Bruce Wayne,” he continued. “If he got involved in government, that would be a good thing for everyone in America.”

musk spent about two hours on Monday night, he spoke with the former president on Trump’s X “Space,” with the wide-ranging chat getting off to a rocky start as it was plagued by technical issues. Once the conversation got underway, Trump opponents quickly found fault with everything from Trump’s rhetoric to Musk’s questions.

Many of the headlines criticizing Musk in the wake of the Trump-X affair were partisan opinion pieces. The post Musk was responding to also included a pure news article from Fox News that mentioned the Harris campaign’s response to the Musk-Trump affair.

“The guy is a guy who doesn’t mess around. He’s very open and really knows what he’s doing,” O’Leary continued to praise Musk. “He’s got assertiveness. You may not like him, you may not like his communication style, but look at what he’s accomplished.”

“If we could get more Elon Musks in government, this country wouldn’t be in the situation it’s in and wouldn’t be so divided,” he added.

In response to the interview between Musk and Trump, Harris’ campaign team sharply criticized the event, saying Trump’s campaign was in the service of “self-centered rich guys who will betray the middle class.”

O’Leary also exposed Harris’s vice presidential running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and his dismal fiscal and economic record.

“I didn’t know anything about vice presidential candidate Tim. So I did a little research last week,” he said. “He’s not a good manager. If you look at his management of his state of Minnesota, it’s not good.”

“People say, ‘Oh, you’re partisan, you’re partisan.’ No, I’m not. I look at the track record of an individual who came into a state and killed off job creation,” O’Leary continued. “He killed off job creation in professional services, in manufacturing, in accounting. Every subcategory you look at, those jobs have moved to South Dakota, North Dakota.”

The legendary entrepreneur also pointed out that the employment rate in South Dakota is supposedly four times higher than in Walz’s home state of Minnesota.

“Minnesota is only creating jobs in the state-funded areas: health care and social services. Everything else is going downhill. He also imposed a 1% surcharge, 100 basis points, on top of the 9.8% tax on retirees. And of course, they’re leaving the state in droves.”
