Old North State Food Hall welcomes new restaurants

Mr. Outrageous Burger and Fries

SELMA – TEC Food Hall, LLC, has announced that Mr. Outrageous, which offers specialty burgers and inventive sides, is now open at the Old North State Food Hall (ONSFH) at 67 JR Road in Selma, NC. Blue Taco, which serves Mexican street food, will open later this month.

Mr. Outrageous, owned by Clayton resident Marquis Reese, is expanding his successful food truck business under the same name. Mr. Outrageous offers a unique take on specialty burgers, from the Habanero Bacon Jam Burger to the extremely popular Oxtail Burger. All sandwiches are served with a side of tater tots or French fries.

Reese explained, “When I decided to expand my business, I knew I wanted to be in Selma and be part of the city’s growth.”

Bringing Mexican street food to Selma, Blue Taco is the latest concept from Danny and Sheri Gonzalez, owners of Aroma de Cuba, one of the first food hall operators. Guests can enjoy a traditional white taco shell or opt for a beautiful blue taco filled with traditional taco fillings – pork, chicken, beef or vegetarian.

Danny Gonzalez revealed: “The star of the show will be the blue taco variant. Our ingredients and spice blends will resemble the simple and flavorful dishes you would find at the locals.”

Joining these new operators are Aroma de Cuba, Luna Pizza, Nai Thai Asian Fusion Food Express, The Ice Storm, The Hot Dog Bar, JoCo Coffee Co, White Swan BBQ and Longleaf Tavern.

Another new feature in the market hall is the introduction of children’s dishes in most restaurants, offering small portions at family-friendly prices.

The 14,000-square-foot market offers a selection of delicious dishes to locals, as well as vacationers and business travelers along the busy I-95 corridor, the midpoint of the East Coast between Portland, Maine, and Miami, Florida.

Mr. Outrageous, White Swan BBQ and Longleaf Tavern are open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Blue Taco will also be open daily when it opens later this month. All other vendors are open Wednesday through Monday and closed on Tuesday.
