Shumaker Building receives $600,000 for cleaning and renovation
Below are current and upcoming road closures and restrictions for Fairfield County. Click on each route to view the location on OHGO.com.
Ohio 310 culvert replacement – This project involves culvert replacement on Ohio 310 between the Fairfield and Licking county lines. New Impacts: Beginning Monday, September 2, Ohio 310 between Ohio 204 and Palmer Road NW will be closed to traffic for culvert replacement through Friday, September 13.
Ohio188 culvert replacement – This project involves culvert replacement on Ohio 188. New Impacts: Beginning Tuesday, September 3, Ohio 188 will be closed to traffic between Ohio 256 and Lake Road for culvert replacement through Friday, September 6. Detour: Ohio 188 to Ohio 256, to Ohio 37, to Coonpath Road to Ohio 188 and vice versa.
Improving the average of US Route 33 – Installation of a cable barrier along US 33 in Franklin and Fairfield counties from Gender Road to the turnaround between Hill-Diley and Pickerington Road. Estimated completion is October 2024. Additional impacts: Motorists should expect shoulder closures along US 33 for the installation of the cable barriers.
Replacement of the Ohio 159 bridge – This project includes the bridge replacement of the Ohio 159 bridge that carries Ohio 159 over Muddy Prairie Run, north of Pleasant Valley Road. Estimated completion of the project is October 2024. Additional Impacts: Ohio 159 will be closed north of Pleasant Valley Road SW for approximately 70 days for bridge replacement. Detour: Ohio 159 via SR 56 to US 22 to Ohio 159 and vice versa.
Bauman Hill Road will be closed
The Fairfield County Engineer’s Office announces that the following road will be closed on the dates listed below:
Bauman Hill Road (County Road 53) will be closed Tuesday, September 3, through Friday, September 27, for the removal and replacement of a culvert, weather permitting. The closure will affect Bauman Hill Road between Lutheran Church Road and Schwilk Road. Construction will occur between 4307 and 4300 Bauman Hill Road SE.

- The Village of Carroll Safety Committee will meet on Monday, August 26th at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Office, 68 Center Street. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss DORA, police hiring, police procurement, speed signs and any other matters brought before the committee.
- The Carroll Town Council will meet on Tuesday, August 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office, 68 Center Street. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Employee Handbook and other business.
