NRI shooting in Punjab: How mother’s intervention and gun malfunction saved his life | Video | Latest News from India

Sukhchain Singh – an Indian national living in the US (NRI) who was shot dead in his Amritsar home in front of his elderly mother and children – is now out of danger, police said. The video of the sensational crime, which has now gone viral, shows that it was his mother and divine intervention that saved his life.

The video footage circulating on the Internet shows two men entering his house at around 7 a.m. Sukhchain Singh was getting ready to go to the gym. The two accused entered the house under the pretext of asking for the registration papers of his luxury car.

They made their intentions clear as soon as they entered: they wanted to murder Sukhchain Singh.

They fired three shots at him. Two of them hit him.

Video footage shows the man lying on the ground, writhing in pain. The attackers are seen trying to fire more shots. But Sukhchain’s brave mother kept trying to stand between her son and the attackers. She pleaded with the two men to spare her son as the duo repeatedly tried to fire the fatal shot.

A child is also seen begging the duo to spare Sukhchain’s life.

According to police, the attacker’s gun jammed and would not fire. His mother never gave up trying to dissuade the attackers from killing him.

Sukhchain’s wife, Amandeep Kaur, said there were five people in the house at the time, including two children and an elderly mother.

“The children repeatedly begged the defendant to leave their father alone, but they came to kill him. When the gun jammed after three shots, the defendant fled the house,” she said.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Ranjit Singh Dhillon said, “Sukhchain belongs to Daburji area of ​​Amritsar… Two men entered Singh’s residence on the pretext of inquiring about the registration certificate of his car and then started firing at him. In total, three men came to the residence. Two of them entered the residence and shot at Sukchain… Sukhchain Singh is a resident of America and arrived in Punjab a month ago.”

Sukhchain Singh was immediately taken to the hospital where he was treated and is now out of danger.

“He is being treated in hospital… Sukhchain Singh’s family has filed a complaint against five members of his ex-wife’s family. Sukchain Singh’s family members claim that family members of his ex-wife were involved in this shooting incident… According to doctors, he is out of danger,” the CP added.

Doctor Krishnan Srinivasan, who treated Sukhchain Singh, said, “When the patient was admitted to the hospital, he was bleeding heavily… The patient is stable… He has sustained injuries on his face and hand.”
