North Coast Life Line launches locally – Times-Standard

North Coast Life Line launches locally – Times-Standard

In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day on Saturday, two initiatives are being launched to combat the opioid crisis in this region: North Coast Life Line and the Naloxone Sticker Project. These efforts aim to reduce overdose deaths and support communities.

North Coast Life Line, accessible at https://linktr.ee/northcoastlifeline, provides information to community members. The platform provides access to information on naloxone use, overdose reporting, and resources for prevention, treatment, and harm reduction.

The Naloxone Sticker Project complements North Coast Life Line by providing touchpoints to access these resources. Naloxone boxes distributed throughout the region feature stickers linking to North Coast Life Line and North Coast Resource Hub.

These projects are the result of collaborations among local organizations including Rx Safe Del Norte, Rx Safe Humboldt, Yurok Tribe Wellness Coalition, United Indian Health Services, Department of Health & Human Services in Humboldt and Del Norte counties, Providence’s ER Bridge Program, Open Door Community Health Center, K’ima:w, Aegis Treatment Centers, Wellpath, and the Humboldt Area Center for Harm Reduction.

“The goal of these initiatives is not only to make naloxone widely available, but also to ensure that people know how to use it and can access the resources they need in times of crisis,” said Jermaine Brubaker of Rx Safe Del Norte.
