On Monday, July 1, reunion The 35-year-old star took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at the bachelorette party she threw for her friend and fellow actress Jessica Szohr. Alongside a series of photos and clips from the festivities, she wrote: “#JessicasIDoCrew for her #BRADchelorette 😉.”
Szohr, 39, revealed Dobrev’s important role in her upcoming nuptials in a comment on the post: “The best maid of honor there is.”

The photos show Szohr – who announced her engagement to former NHL player Brad Richardson in May 2022 – next to a life-size cardboard cutout of her future husband, wearing a flared white miniskirt and a western hat that reads “BRIDE.”

Szohr and Richardson, 39, welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Bowie Ellie, in January 2021. She shared the happy news on Instagram at the time, posting a black-and-white photo of the newborn’s tiny hands.

“Added a special sweetness to our family on 11/1/21 and gave our journey a new direction,” Szohr wrote in the caption.
“This journey with Brad and Lexi has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life,” she continued, referring to Richardson’s daughter Lexi, whom he has with ex-wife Lauren Hunt. “Then to create a human being that is absolutely perfect in our eyes and bring a feeling to my heart that I didn’t know existed is indescribable. I have all the feels and she is truly special.”

Two months after Bowie’s birth, Dobrev shared a series of photos on Instagram from the moment she first met Szohr’s baby, joking that Bowie “fits in perfectly with the squad.”
“BOWIE⚡️⚡️ my little girl gave birth to a little girl. I got to meet the newest (and cutest) member of the Lil Backpacks and let me tell you what… not only is she PERFECT, but she fits in perfectly with the squad 🎒😍 @jessicaszohr @brichardson15,” Dobrev wrote.

Szohr commented on the post: “She loves her Aunt Neens so much 🙂 and you guys practically have the same birthday 🙂 I hope she’s adventurous like you but doesn’t get hurt as often! ❤️ That’s the protective mommy in me :).”
The two actresses met and became friends when they both starred in a CW series at the same time. Dobrev played Elena Gilbert in the Vampire Diaries from 2009 to 2017, while Szohr played Vanessa Abrams in gossip Girl from 2007 to 2012.
