Best ranked Tennis player Jannik Sinner was tested for a banned anabolic steroid twice in March.
The 23-year-old was found to have low levels of a metabolite of clostebol, a banned anabolic steroid that can be used in ophthalmology and skin.
Sinner was stripped of prize money and points at a tournament in California, but the newly crowned winner of the Cincinnati Open faces no further bans.

A well-known player in this sport does not agree with the result at all.
Nick Kyrgios says it is “ridiculous” that Sinner is only giving up prize money and points and that he will not see the court for a long time.
“Whether it was accidental or planned. You get tested twice with a banned (steroid) substance… You should be out for two years. Your performance has been enhanced. Massage cream… Yeah, nice,” Kyrgios posted to X.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced on Tuesday that Sinner would not be suspended because an independent court found that this was not intentional. He was suspended based on these test results but successfully appealed and was allowed to continue competing on the tour.

According to the ITIA, Sinner stated that he tested positive because a member of his care team used an over-the-counter spray containing clostebol to treat a minor wound. The ITIA said it accepted Sinner’s explanation and concluded that the violation was unintentional.
The Italian won the Cincinnati Open against Frances Tiafoe on Monday and will compete in the US Open as one of the favorites.
Sinner won his first Grand Slam title in January when he won the Australian OpenHe reached the semifinals of the French Open in June and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in July.
