Bookmakers setting the 2024 NFL odds seem optimistic that New York Jets running back Breece Hall will reach 1,000 yards in his first season, as he has the third-lowest odds (-175) to reach the coveted mark about a week before the start of the new season.
Gang Green’s rising back is entering his third season in the NFL after coming up agonizingly close last year with 994 yards and five touchdowns.
In the expected strong Jets offense led by future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Hall will take on the leadership role in the backfield, where new successes seem inevitable behind a newly formed offensive line.
On the other side of MetLife Stadium, Devin Singletary, the Giants’ new No. 1 running back, doesn’t have such bad odds. In fact, he’s ranked 20th out of 31 runners DraftKings originally listed.
The 26-year-old set his personal best with 898 rushing yards last season with the Houston Texans, but now faces the difficult task of filling the gap left by the departure of Saquon Barkley behind an offensive line that has also been rebuilt but which is understandably fraught with many question marks.
To make matters worse, former Giants star Barkley has the fourth-lowest odds of reaching 1,000 yards with his new team, the Philadelphia Eagles, and Big Blue will be seeing a lot of them in the years to come.
