Set designer Christine Jones’ Scenic Design Guide takes set design to a new level from concept to execution. It provides insight into budget and resource management, offers a scene breakdown, and includes a prop list to simplify complex compositions, making it accessible to schools with varying resources.
The director’s manual, written by John Tiffanyis the ultimate companion to the production process. The newly published school edition of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has already achieved great success in pilot productions. In March, the Riverside School in London staged a black box performance in the cafeteria of their secondary school, in which many students took part in a play for the first time. At the beginning of May New Jersey produced a more elaborate show with over 100 students from across the district, resulting in sold-out performances and standing ovations.
