New mystery series “Moonflower Murders” among titles coming to PBS Prime Video channels in September

Titles coming to PBS’ Prime Video channels in September include the new mystery series “Moonflower Murders” and new seasons of “Van der Valk,” “Ridley” and “MotorWeek.”

PBS’s Prime Video channels include PBS Masterpiece ($5.99 per month), PBS Kids ($4.99 per month), PBS Documentaries ($4.99 per month), and PBS Living ($2.99 ​​per month).

The new series “Moonflower Murders” will be broadcast on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel from September 15th. In the series, Susan Ryeland and her partner Andreas live on the idyllic island of Crete. But their lives are turned upside down when an explosive secret lands on their doorstep. The disappearance of a woman is linked to a novel by her old enemy Alan Conway. In this sequel to “Magpie Murders” starring Lesley Manville, Susan once again delves into the glamorous world of Atticus Pund as she unravels a tangled web of lies, anger and jealousy.

The fourth season of Van der Valk will also premiere on PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel on September 15. Commissioner Piet Van der Valk (Marc Warren) and the team return for a fourth season with three new investigations in and around Amsterdam. In addition to solving the murder investigation, Van der Valk himself must deal with an unwelcome old romance resurfacing and find a way to confront one of his beloved, albeit dysfunctional, team members with his own mortality.

The second season of Ridley will also stream on PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel from September 15. Adrian Dunbar returns as retired Detective Inspector Alex Ridley. As a police consultant, Ridley teams up with his former protégé DI Carol Farman, who is now leading the investigation. Together they investigate intriguing mysteries, from a series of jewel thefts that lead to murders, to a decomposing body found in a hollow tree, to a shooting at an illegal rave party.

Other titles launching in September on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel include “The Drought (Sequía)” (September 6), “Rookies” (September 13), the second season of “Lolita Lobosco” (September 20), “Family Berger Law Practice” (September 22) and the second season of “Carmen Curlers” (September 27).

The 12th episode of “Alma’s Way” premieres on September 23rd on the PBS Kids Prime Video Channel. In the series, Alma Rivera is a confident 6-year-old Puerto Rican girl who lives in the Bronx with her family and a diverse group of close-knit friends and neighbors. The series teaches children ages 4 to 6 the skills to find answers to their problems, express their thoughts and feelings, and recognize and respect the unique perspectives of others.

Other titles coming to the PBS Kids Prime Video Channel in September include Volume 12 of Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum (September 9) and Volume 13 of Donkey Hodie (September 16).

Starting September 18, the PBS Documentaries Prime Video Channel will be broadcasting the show “Big Cats 24/7,” in which the team begins a six-month expedition to search for lions, leopards and cheetahs in the Okavango Delta. Cameraman Gordon Buchanan follows one of Africa’s largest lion prides. Anna Dimitriadis tracks down the Okavango’s most elusive big cat, the cheetah. Filmmaker Brad Bestelink meets his favorite leopard, Xudum, again. A forest fire threatens the big cats and the team.

Beginning September 24, The Choice 2024 will be airing on the PBS Documentaries Prime Video Channel, examining the lives and characters of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on their paths to the presidency. In a historic election, those who know the candidates best reveal key moments that will determine how they will lead America.

Other titles launching in September on the PBS Documentaries Prime Video Channel include “Mayor Humphrey of Minneapolis” (September 1) and “VOCES American Historia: The Untold History of Latinos” (September 27).

The 44th season of MotorWeek, the original auto magazine on television, begins airing September 10 on the PBS Living Prime Video Channel. The series continues to track the rise of electrification, with a particular focus on the increasing interest in hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, while also introducing viewers to the latest internal combustion engines – from efficient and practical to fast and loud.

Additionally, the 16th season of “Antiques Roadshow” (September 30) will be broadcast on the PBS Living Prime Video Channel.
