New faculty in the spotlight: Kelly-Ann Patrice, MBBS | Newsroom

Kelly-Ann Patrice, MBBS, is a new faculty member at UNMC.

Education:

  • Faculty of Medicine at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica
  • Resident in Internal Medicine at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, Baltimore
  • Residency in neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore
  • Fellowship in vascular neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore
  • Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas

Professional interests:

How I fell in love with my field:I completed my postgraduate training in internal medicine with the initial goal of becoming a cardiologist. Little did I know that my second year in neurology would be a life-changing experience. This internship provided me with an unprecedented insight into the advances in neurological care and a completely different perception of the field of neurology. It was then that I wholeheartedly decided to study neurology.
