NBC Network’s Latest Announcement: An Epic Nebraska Football Troll

As if the Nebraska-Colorado game wasn’t huge enough, it’s now being called by one of the most hated quarterbacks of the last 20 years. And as it turns out, it’ll be the first game he’s ever called.

When the Huskers face the Buffs under the lights on Saturday night, Sept. 7, a rookie commentator from NBC will be calling the action. The network announced earlier this week that former Texas Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy will serve as commentator for the game.

“Colt McCoy, a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist at the University of Texas and a 14-year NFL quarterback, will join NBC Sports as an analyst for coverage of Big Ten football, it was announced today,” NBC Sports said in a press release. “McCoy will serve as a game analyst and will also appear on the Big Ten College Countdown. studio show. McCoy’s announcement of the Nebraska football game was the same day he announced his retirement from the NFL.

Of course, this decision is almost certainly not a deliberate troll job by NBC, but you have to assume that Husker fans aren’t going to like the decision. Especially if the game is close and McCoy makes a comment that seems a little biased toward Colorado.

McCoy was the Longhorns’ quarterback during a period in Big 12 history when NU made its best push to the top of the conference under Bo Pelini.

Most Husker fans will surely remember him as the quarterback of the Texas team that managed to defeat Ndamukong Suh and his team in the last second of a game for the Big 12 title in 2009.

This loss was especially painful over the years as it was the last time the Huskers truly looked like the class of their conference.

As the Nebraska football team attempts to regroup and return to the top of the college football world, hearing Colt McCoy talk about what happened on the field won’t be the funniest memory.
