Mumbling New York maniac beats 66-year-old woman in seemingly random attack

A muttering madman brutally attacked a 66-year-old woman on a Brooklyn street on Sunday afternoon. The apparently unprovoked attack sent the victim to the hospital, police said.

The victim was standing near the intersection of East 40th According to the NYPD, the woman was between the intersection of Street and Hubbard Place in East Flatbush at approximately 4:45 p.m. when the unidentified attacker – who had been talking to himself seconds earlier – approached her and began kicking her and hitting her in the head.

The suspect – described as a dark-skinned man wearing black glasses, a black hoodie, blue sweatpants and gray shoes – then ran down Avenue K toward Flatbush Avenue.

The woman suffered a cut to her head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital by paramedics in stable condition, police said.

Police have not yet made any arrests, but have released a surveillance photo of the sunglasses-wearing thug, who was holding a drink and had his hoodie pulled up when his image was captured on camera.
