COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – On Friday, Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that a multi-agency drug investigation resulted in the seizure of $32,000 worth of cocaine.

“This was a successful drug operation that resulted in a major bust,” the sheriff said, “and dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking in Orangeburg County.”

Ravenell states that 40-year-old Rocsan Anquillano was charged with trafficking cocaine (400 grams or more) and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to resell near a school.

Agents from the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Department of Law Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security were involved in the investigation, according to a press release.

Investigators said they executed a search warrant on a Sawyer Street residence on Tuesday and found a kilogram of cocaine, valued at an estimated $32,000, hidden in a box of hair extensions.

If convicted, Anquillano faces up to 25 years in prison.

“This successful joint operation shows how effective cooperation is in the fight against drug crime,” said Ravenell. “We will use all of our resources and partnerships to dismantle criminal drug operations.”

The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff said.
